Junior School Teacher (Year 5 or 6) | Start 2025

About This Opportunity

The College’s first intake of Year 5 and 6 started at the beginning of this year (2024) and we are excited to announce a new permanent full-time opportunity for a Junior School Teacher to join our expanding Junior School in 2025.

We are seeking a passionate, innovative and highly skilled educational leader to make a significant contribution to the development of a student-centred Junior School. You have the opportunity to build authentic learning environments for girls to flourish by creating comprehensive and flexible learning programs.

About You

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Completed or be prepared to be obtain accreditation to teach Religion in a Catholic school.
  • Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.
  • Ability to apply appropriate knowledge in order to plan and prepare innovative teaching and learning programs in the junior school which meets the diverse characteristics, needs and learning styles of students; and are consistent with relevant syllabi, curriculum policies, unit plans and education trends.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to implement effective learner-centred and inclusive teaching and learning processes, including the use of learning technology and assessment, to establish a challenging learning environment in which students are encouraged to work towards attainment of their potential.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students including the use of appropriate interpersonal skills, and the ability to plan and apply appropriate behaviour management strategies that contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive learning environment.
  • An understanding of the need to work collaboratively with school staff and members of the wider community in order to establish productive partnerships and achieve educational outcomes.
  • Proactively engage with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes.

Woodwind Tutor and Ensemble Conductor

About This Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Woodwind Tutor and Ensemble Conductor to join our team on a casual basis.

The number of employment hours is determined by student enrolment in the program and may vary from term to term, however it is anticipated that the position will be 1-2 days per week inclusive of lessons and ensemble rehearsal. You will have the ability to run small group lessons and ensemble as part of our year 5 instrumental music program. The successful applicant would need to be available Wednesdays between 12.30 and 4.30pm and all day Friday. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to engage in private tuition outside the classroom environment.

Applicants may be asked to perform to ascertain their level of skill.

About You

The ideal candidate displays an obvious drive and passion for instrumental programs. With an engaging communication style and a positive attitude, you will have demonstrated ability to build rapport and interact effectively at all levels of the College.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Successful applicants will be enthusiastic, energetic, self-motivated, hard-working and able to communicate effectively with students and their parents, as well as College music and administration staff.
  • Tertiary pedagogy qualifications and previous teaching experience (in schools or privately) preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students including the use of appropriate interpersonal skills, and the ability to plan and apply appropriate behaviour management strategies that contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive learning environment.
  • An understanding of the need to work collaboratively with school staff and members of the wider community in order to establish productive partnerships and achieve educational outcomes.
  • Current full registration, or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration as a teacher in Queensland (required if classroom teaching).
