In September 2013, Kildare Ministries was established by the Holy See as a Public Juridic Person (PJP) at the request of the Congregation of the Sisters of St Brigid (Brigidine Sisters) to succeed and to carry on the ministries previously conducted by the Brigidine Sisters in Australia.

Its civil incorporation is under the Roman Catholic Church Communities Lands Act 1942 (NSW) under the name Trustees of Kildare Ministries (TKM). In March 2014, the Victorian Institute of the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Presentation Sisters) was accepted as the second member of TKM.

As a PJP, TKM is the Catholic Church authority for the schools and community works previously conducted by the Brigidine Sisters in Australia and the Presentation Sisters in Victoria.

In 2004, Brigidine College was incorporated as a Company Limited by Guarantee and a Board appointed with responsibility for governance of the College. To read more about Kildare Ministries go to www.kildareministries.org.au

Kildare Ministeries Statements:

Role of our Board

The College Board supports the College’s administration and has representation from past students, the Brigidine Sisters and the broader community. Board members bring a broad range of professional experience and expertise to their oversight of the College.

The Board Directors are appointed by the Trustees of Kildare Ministries to govern the College in the areas of education, financial, property and employment responsibilities and to plan for the ongoing development of the College. The Trustees of Kildare Ministries as the sole member of the Board has reserve powers in areas such as the ratification of the appointment of a Principal and approval of capital loans.

The Board is responsible for the Catholic ethos and mission of the College and for the administration of the temporal goods assigned to it for its work. The Board, through its Chair, is accountable to Kildare Ministries, the Public Juridic Person (PJP).

Leadership and Administration

The College Leadership Team (CLT) consists of the Principal, the Deputy Principal Curriculum, Deputy Principal Students and Deputy Principal Mission, assisted by the Business Manager and the Assistant to the Principal – Administration and IT and Assistant to the Principal – Professional Teaching and Learning. The College Leadership Team is through the Principal, responsible to the College Board.

The College Administration is structured to aid in the personal academic, social and spiritual development of the students. Each House has a Pastoral Leader who is usually the first point of contact between home and school. Pastoral Leaders are assisted by Home Room Teachers with the daily routine. Program Leaders – Senior Years, Middle Years and Learning Enhancement are assisted by Curriculum Leaders. Curriculum Leaders mentor the teachers in a learning subject area as well as monitoring the programs and assessment within that academic discipline.
