In Term 4 last year 16 Year 10 students participated in the ‘Peer Skills Program’ training workshops, where they learnt some of the skills needed to assist their fellow students in times of difficulty. The College has been engaging this initiative of the UnitingCare Community for the past few years. This program recognises that young people frequently, in the first instance, turn to their peers for support rather than approaching an adult. At the Academic Assembly on 6 February these students, now in year 11, were presented with their badges and introduced to the student body. They will join the Peer Mentors in Year 12, providing extra support for the wellbeing of our students.
